Picketing Father

The other night as I was preparing to go to bed, I couldn’t find Mark. As I looked around I discovered him sitting on the floor in the middle of our little guy’s bedroom. His face had a look of determination on it. When asked what he was doing, he replied, “I’m picketing.” “Picketing huh? What in the world could you be picketing in our baby’s room?” Without hesitation he said, “I’m not leaving here until he decides to come. I just want him to be here.” Immediately I began to chuckle. I went over, kissed him on the forehead and told him that when he got tired of picketing he was welcome to join me in bed. Needless to say the picketing did not last long after that offer. So image the heartache I had when the next day I had to inform Mr. Kelly that our son might be coming a week later than expected. That was a hard one to break.

I love that Mr. Kelly! He is going to be best dad ever!

  1. That is too funny! Tell make the way to get the baby out in not by sitting on his floor:0) Will they induce you if you are a week late? Can't wait to see the little guy!

  2. Don't you think that by this point in the ball game they can't get here soon enough! No matter how sleepless the nights might be, the trade-off of holding your new baby is worth it. So excited for you two!
