Baby no longer

Where has my baby gone? Miles is growing before my eyes. Each morning that I greet him from his slumber I have to wipe my eyes again as the boy seems to be growing more and more each night. It's a bittersweet growing pain for me as his mother. When I see a small newborn it's hard for me to remember Miles being that small. It seems so long ago, yet just yesterday.
It's funny because I remember the long days and nights of no sleep. Yet, looking back now I realize how lucky I was to cradle and hold my new son as he was getting acquainted with his new world. Honestly, there are so many new smells, sounds and sights who could sleep?
I love watching Miles grow, even if it is too fast. Each morning I can't wait to be greeted by his smile and be smothered with his hugs and kisses. Being a mother is wonderful. It's an amazing and privileged experience that I have been blessed with in my life. I honor this calling. I only hope and pray that I am living in each moment so that when I look back I can honestly say that I lived each day to the fullest with my family.

  1. He is getting so big! I haven't even met him yet. What is your schedule like. We need to do lunch one day.
