What would you do for 5 bucks?

July 24th Festivies this year included a BBQ at the Young's and then it was off to the Bee's Baseball Game and firework show afterwards.

While at the BBQ my Aunt Amy brought the hit of the night . . . yummy homemade salsa from good old Harmons! Even though the label said mild, I could only handle one chip, as it was spicy enough to throw me into labor. Everyone was digging the salsa, and the entire bowl was devoured in about 20 minutes. As Amy stood there staring at the remaining 1/4" of juicy remnants, wishing for more, someone said . . ."I dare you to drink that." Amy chuckled . . . and she said it. Without hesitation Aunt Mauna said, "I'll give you $5." That's all it took. Amy tried to get bidding higher, but settled with the $5. Then she was off in a hurry . . . I had to stall her long enough to even get my camera.

After only 30 seconds, Amy had finished it off. Her eyes began to water and her face turned red, but she did it! You go Amy! Good thing Aunt Mauna had the cash on hand to pay up. I think Amy may need that for a bottle of Pepto Bismol.

Mark and I had a good time at the game, and we always enjoy the fireworks! It was extremely hot, so I had to literally peel myself out of the chair a few times and walk around. The guy at the concession stand even took pity on me and didn't charge me for a glass of ice water. Funny what a protruding belly will do for you.
